We spent the perfect summer evening boating, swimming, and exploring Lake Minnetonka with Lauren and Jonathan for their engagement session.
These cuties came all the way from their current home in London to roam around their old North Loop stomping grounds with us! The temps were literally frigid on this day, but lots of snuggling and a cocktail or two kept us all warm. We love how engagement sessions give us extra insight into a couple's dynamic and history, and this session was so full with stories from the past and excitement for the future. So excited for their wedding day this November!
We visited Sam and Dan's adorable apartment in Madison, WI this fall, and had a blast getting to know more about their lives and love. We started at their place, then strolled the neighborhood to some of their favorite local spots, including a stunning lakeside park. Dan proposed to Sam on their balcony after one of their morning runs, so I love how these photos will always commemorate such a special time for them together. They make it official in September, and we cannot wait to be there with them!
We headed North to Hayward, Wisconsin for Sam and Adam's winter woodland engagement session! This setting was perfect, since they are literally professional lumberjacks - they're the people you see at the MN State Fair Lumberjack Competition. I'm so impressed by this and think it's insanely cool. It's also how these two met, which is extra amazing!
We can't wait for their wedding bash with their whole crew in September, up in the woods of course.
We headed to Kristen and Beau's lovely new home in Saint Paul for their engagement session, and we're in love with their photos! I love that they'll forever have a keepsake of images from not only their time as fiancés, but of their first home together.
We ended the shoot with a stroll to the bluffs along the Mississippi, one of our favorite spots in the Cities. It's important for us to create a great experience for our Clients. Sometimes this means taking a step back, allowing you to just soak up being together. An "engagement" is a transition - halfway between your past and your future together - and we feel it's so special to take a moment to be present here together. On such a beautiful fall evening, with perfect light and a stunning view, Kristen and Beau were seeing nothing but each other.
When the day for Matt & Taysha's engagement session rolled around, an all-day-rainy forecast made it clear that we weren't going to get the sunny golden hour they were hoping for. With all-around positive attitudes we changed our plans on the fly and switched from the original nature preserve location to the North Loop for a stroll and a cozy date-night feel.
I love that they decided to roll with their busy travel schedules, and make this shoot happen rain or shine. I love how these photos reflect the more intimate side of their relationship. I love that sometimes things work out just how they're supposed to. Plus, sharing a great cocktail at Marvel never hurts. So excited for more magic on their big day in August!
