We got to break up our routine a bit when we were invited to photograph the University of Minnesota’s “Marrow on the Move” 5K - an annual event that brings people together to celebrate the lives of those who have received a blood or bone marrow transplant for a life-threatening blood disease. This cause is especially close to our hearts as Jen’s dad Paul is a near 20 year survivor of Multiple Myeloma, and a successful transplant and progressive research has meant the world to our own family. It was an empowering and memorable morning of tot trots, walks, runs, and biking by tons of amazing individuals, and we adore the resulting photos!
This past weekend we were lucky enough to photograph Art-a-Whirl for the second year in a row for NEMAA (the Northeast Minneapolis Arts Association). This weekend of open studios, food trucks, beer, and music is one of the reasons we love Minneapolis most, and a huge reason why Jen moved here. The creative expression of such a vast and diverse community of artists is truly incredible to witness, and we feel so honored to be a part of this special little part of the world.
